The mobile app your band plays from. Your setlist, your own mix, charts, cues and click — in sync with everyone else, and working when the venue's wifi doesn't. One app, on iPhone, iPad and Android.
The iPhone and iPad beta runs on TestFlight and is invite-only for now. The Android app is releasing soon — neither is on the App Store or Google Play yet.

The set, in your hand
Open the show built in Producer and run it straight through, section by section — on your phone in your pocket, or propped up on an iPad where you can see it from the kit.
Your own mix
More guitar, less click, the cues you actually want — your monitor mix is yours, and it does not change anyone else’s.
Charts, cues and click
Synchronized charts and lyrics, spoken section cues, and a click that stays locked to the rest of the band. Offline once the show is loaded.
Getting the beta
The beta is invite-only while the group is small. Email beta@downbeat.cc, let us know which device type you have, and we will get you set up with the right version of the app.
Which one are you?
In a band? This beta is for you. Player is where the setlist, the rehearsal and the show live, in sync with everyone else.
Learning with a teacher? Fretboard is what you want, and it works today — your teacher assigns you a sheet, it arrives by email, and it opens in any browser with nothing to install. Lessons inside the app are being built and are not part of this beta yet. Go to Fretboard →
iPhone & iPad
Invite-only beta
Running on TestFlight now
- Email beta@downbeat.cc and tell us the Apple ID you use on your iPhone or iPad. The invitation is sent to that exact address, so a different one will not reach you. TestFlight is Apple’s app for running pre-release builds, and it is where the beta lives.
- Watch for the invitation. It comes from Apple, not from us, with the subject “You’re invited to test Downbeat Player”. Open it on the iPhone or iPad you want it on.
- Install TestFlight from the App Store if you do not have it, then tap Install in the invitation. Player lands on your home screen, and TestFlight tells you whenever there is a new build.

Not on Google Play yet
- The same app, not a port. One codebase builds both, through Skip, so there is nothing to learn twice and nothing that only works on the other one.
- It is not on Google Play yet. When it lands you will install it the normal way, and we will announce it on the Updates page the same day.

What it needs
A band to belong to, and a plan that covers stems — the free tier pulls your own audio from a Mac on the same network, and cloud stems come with a paid tier.
